Finally, the new MeteorClock update in iteration 2.2. Mostly done bug fixing and slight optimizations as well as added many more languages!

changes in 2.2

  • Wind Direction shown in degrees for higher accuracy
  • compressed backgrounds, widget is now only 1.5mb in size, saved 0.5mb! Reported were issues with out-of-memory errors – I’m optimizing where I can, although I think its more an issue with bada’s resource management itself
  • [Bug] got rid of a forgotten debug message
  • [Bug] fixed unit km/h – mph conversion of wind speed
  • [Bug] using the End Call hardware key properly exits the fullscreen menus now, instead of making the widget get totally stuck
  • optimized data storage to minimize discrepancies in adding and deleting locations
  • new languages: Italian, Russian, Ukranian, Romanian, Turkish

Quick Fix 2.21

  • fixed the language file, which was corrupted on compression
    (Thanks for assistance Dmitriy!)

known issues

  • when adding a location, the town name might display as null instead, just reload its weather info to solve this
  • extremely fast toggling between locations and continuous hitting of the refresh button can end up assigning feed information to the wrong location, including the town name, to solve this: for now, be a little patient when retrieving weather info
  • unfortunately, Ukrainian isn’t supported because bada doesn’t return any language code for it
    [update] I was reported that Ukrainian in fact works for devices running the most recent bada version 1.2. But for instance, it doesn’t work on a 1.02 device.

  1. Just download the archive and unzip the .wgt widget file
  2. Copy MeteorClock.wgt to your Wave phone
  3. Execute the file from the Wave’s file explorer and agree to the installation

      Sehr schön zu hören, dass es doch funktioniert!
      PS: Muss aber leider zugeben, dass ich leider nicht so schnell bin, wie du dir vielleicht denkst. Arbeite ja schon seit Release 2.1 an der 2.2 ;)

      Hab aber extra noch dein Feedback zum Anlass genommen, schnelle Nutzer Eingaben auf Stabilität zu prüfen und den Fix für die Auflegetaste eingefügt.

    Hallo,

    ich muss doch mal Kritik loswerden.
    Nicht an der Uhr selbst – sie ist echt top, aber am Wetterbericht. Ist es möglich, anstatt yahoo wetter den Wetterbericht von accuweather zu nutzen? Yahoo Wetter ist sehr sehr ungenau und dann nutzt es mir eigentlich nichts.

    Schau mal hier: http://www.badanation.de/topic.php?t=1448&page=1, dort habe ich zwei Vergleichsbeispiele als Bild gepostet (für den Fall, dass ich mich unklar ausgedrückt habe).

      Hi jLocke,
      in dem verlinkten Thread schriebst du, dass du mich angetwittert hast? Ich hab leider keine Nachricht erhalten.

      Auf deine Frage: Leider ist es aus technischen und rechtlichen Gründen nicht möglich auf AccuWeather Daten zu wechseln.

      Das ganze Programm basiert auf der Struktur von Yahoo Daten. Ich müsste fast alles komplett neu schreiben und wohl auch ganze Features ändern oder entfernen. Das wäre schlichtweg sehr viel Aufwand.

      Außerdem erlauben die Nutzungsrichtlinien von AccuWeather nicht die Verwendung der Daten in mobilen Applikationen. Auch wenn viele auf sowas scheinbar nichts geben, möchte ich mich nicht dort einreihen.

    Very nice. But the Turkish translation of the existing misspellings. Does not support Turkish characters. As an example, in Turkish under the name Şş-Iı-İi-Ğğ-Öö-Üü-Çç initials and city in the clouds, sunshine and so on. sentences has not been translated to Turkish. Are you make the necessary adjustments? Thank you.

      thanks for your response, yilmaz. I checked the issue and found the problem. It’s a falsely applied encoding. I’m currently coordinating a fix with the translator. Will try to get this updated as soon as possible!

    Hi Jörn,
    ich bin von einem Moterola V3i auf das S8500 umgestiegen und somit ganz neu in der Liga. Bin aber von Deiner Uhr ganz begeistert und hoffe das ich ewas Hilfe bekomme beim installieren. Habe die entpackte Datei MeteorClock 2.21.wgt auf dem Destop. Nun brauche ich Hilfe wie es genau weiter geht.

      Hey midost, kein Problem!
      Schließ dein Handy im Massenspeichermodus an deinen PC an. Dann kopier’ einfach die .wgt Datei irgendwo auf den Handy Speicher. Dann stöpselt du das Wave wieder ab und gehst im File Explorer vom Wave unter “Eigene Dateien” im App Menu in den Ordner, wo du die .wgt hinkopiert hast. Dort führst du sie einfach aus, bestätigst Installationsanfragen und schon kannst du das Widget auf deinen Homescreen ziehen.
      (oben links auf dem Homescreen ist der “Widget” Knopf um zu den installierten Widgets zu gelangen)

    Fantastisch! Gefällt mir unglaublich gut!

    Kleiner Tipp noch: Das “Flippen” noch aktivieren, wenn man das Display entsperrt. Sodass er nicht gleich auf die aktuelle Uhrzeit springt. Wäre cool, wenn möglich :)

    Ansonsten super Arbeit!

    can’t run on hong kong Traditional Chinese version,but languages change to Simplified chinese can run!……..why?

      Sorry for the late response, I’ve been very busy but noted down this issue. The Chinese language files seem to be faulty, and I will have a look into this as soon as I have some time!

    stellt sich die Version 2.2 automatisch auf Sommerzeit um ?

    Bisher lebe ich noch in Winterzeit

      Die Uhr synchronisiert sich automatisch mit der Systemzeit, welche dann eben in Sommer oder Winterzeit sein muss. Welche bada Version hast du? Womöglich scheint es mit bada 1.2 zu klappen und bei älteren Version Probleme zu geben.

        Ich bin “zufriedener” o2 Kunde und muss immer noch mit Bada 1.0 auskommen.

        Die Umstellung auf Sommerzeit ist heute erfolgt. Scheint also auch mit Bada 1.0 mit einiger Verspätung zu funktionieren.

    Hab da mal Problem mit dem Widget ^^
    Das Ding läuft leider nur auf Winterzeit. Habs auch schon deinstalliert und neu drauf gemacht hilft nichts, genauso wie es einfach in die Widgetleiste ziehen und wieder auf den Homescreen packen.
    Ist die neuste Version 2.21. Bitte um Hilfe ^^ Will ungern das klasse Widget von meinem Wave schmeissen..
